Orquesta Ritmo Alegre
With a direct lineage to the creators of the danzón-mambo, Israel and Orestes López, Orquesta Ritmo Alegre explores the repertoire of Cuba’s golden age of music and the shared musical traditions of Cuba, Mexico, and Latin America. The group features the traditional charanga instrumentation—strings, flute, and an Afro-Cuban rhythm section—and showcases master Cuban vocalist and percussionist Lázaro Galarraga.
